How to Add a Favicon to Webflow

Webflow manages your favicon in Project Settings. Upload a 32x32 PNG (256x256 recommended for retina). The favicon applies across your whole project once published.

Step 1 — Prepare your favicon

Generate a 256x256 square PNG with the favicon generator. Webflow accepts PNG and ICO.

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to Project Settings
  2. Click the Images tab
  3. Under Favicon click Upload and choose your PNG
  4. Click Save Changes
  5. Publish your project for the favicon to go live

Troubleshooting

  • Not showing? You must Publish after uploading — the favicon isn't live in the designer preview.
  • Still old? Browsers cache favicons hard — test in an incognito window.
  • Wrong format? Use PNG or ICO; Webflow doesn't accept SVG as a favicon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should a Webflow favicon be?+

32x32 is the display size, but upload a 256x256 (or larger square) PNG so it stays sharp on retina screens.

Does Webflow support SVG favicons?+

No — Webflow's favicon upload accepts PNG and ICO only. For an SVG favicon you'd add the link tag via custom code.

Why isn't my Webflow favicon live?+

You must Publish the project after uploading. The favicon won't show on your live domain until you publish.

Don't have a favicon yet?

Generate a complete favicon package first, then upload the right file in the steps above.
